Apple reported to have large team working on “watch-like device”

The rumours of Apple’s wearable wrist-computer device thing are getting a little more detailed, with sources now claiming that Apple has a rather hefty-sized team working on the tech.

Two sources who asked not to be named, speaking to Bloomberg, have said that Apple has a team of about 100 people working on the project, suggesting that the tech may be further along than was initially thought. The team apparently consists of members of the marketing group, managers and hardware and software engineers who have worked on the iPhone and iPad in the past.

If the new technology from Apple is on the way, it might have a huge effect on the company. A tech consultant and former Apple employee, Bruce Tognazzini, said in a blog post “The iWatch will fill a gaping hole in the Apple ecosystem. Like other breakthrough Apple products, its value will be underestimated at launch, then grow to have a profound impact on our lives and Apple’s fortunes.”

A spokeswoman for Apple declined to comment on the new rumours.
