Any Harry Potter fan will undoubtedly understand the desperate desire to feel the wind whip through their hair on their very own broomstick before being whisked away on the shoulders of their teammates, having just secured the match-winning Golden Snitch for the House Cup. Well, now you can. Enter Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Deluxe Edition, out today!

Capturing the magic of the original series, from the minds of those folks over at Unbroken Studios, comes Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions – flying onto the Nintendo Switch, joining the launch for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Epic Games).

The beautiful game

Make sure the fridge is stocked, your weekend cleared, and a large hot pizza is on the way. Now you’re ready to dive into Quidditch Champions. Before you can start racking up those points, however, you’ll first need to settle into your Hogwarts house and most importantly, your own character.

Balancing a game like Quidditch Champions was never going to be easy. But Unbroken Studios have certainly tried – and succeeded – staying faithful to those action-packed moments from the films and books, while also introducing new mechanics, walking a tightrope between keeping the game exciting without simply handing the win to the little toe rags like Harry Potter.

Capturing the Golden Snitch no longer ends the game, nor does it hand the team a massive 150-point lead. Now, games end by either hitting a time limit or reaching 100 points first. Quaffles still earn your team 10 points a goal while the Snitch – usually appearing twice per game – is only worth thirty points.

Quidditch Champions gameplay goes well beyond Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Players can fly across some of the films’ most iconic locations, battling for your house’s pride in the esteemed Hogwarts Interhouse Quidditch Cup before progressing to the Triwizard Schools Quidditch Cup featuring never-before-seen pitches at the Beauxbatons Academy or Durmstrang Institute. Eventually, players will be invited to the most prestigious of events – the Quidditch World Cup.

Friends making bold claims about their non-existent Quidditch skills? Challenge them to an online match, putting both players’ skills and dignity on the line for the ultimate bragging rights. Or if they’d rather share in the taste of victory, players can team up with up to three friends to take on the brilliant co-op experience and share all the glory.

“We have heard fans’ passionate requests for a Quidditch gaming experience, and with Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions we are bringing the fantasy of the magical sport to life,” said Warner Bros. Games president, David Haddad. “The team has created a game that is authentic and fantastical, and we are excited for Harry Potter fans to fulfil their aspirations of becoming a Quidditch champion.”

In this digital age, physical is always better. Fortunately, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Deluxe Edition launches today featuring the glorious box art that looks great amongst a wall of Harry Potter merch. Players picking up the Deluxe Edition will also gain access to the base game as well as Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor House Packs – including exclusive brooms, apparel, and emblems to flex on your friends. Also included is an additional 2,000 gold in-game currency.

It’s worth mentioning that Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions foregoes the industry-standard practice of microtransactions, enabling a system that rewards players with new teams, apparel, and hero skins that allow players to role-play their favourite Harry Potter characters, just for simply playing the game.

If you’re ready to take up the challenge, you can pick up the Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Deluxe Edition for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch from Koodoo, Nexus Hub, Game4U, or Amazon.
