E3 in-person will return to Los Angeles from 13 to 16 June 2023

E3 2023

Perhaps we were too harsh with the organisers behind the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) convention. When the event was cancelled earlier this year, the Stuff offices predicted the demise of the event as a whole. As an in-person outing, at any rate. Turns out, that’s not the case.

Next year will see an E3 event take place in Los Angeles. As is traditional, it’ll occur during June. The 2023 event will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Basically, nothing has changed on that front.

To E3 or not to E3

Or anywhere else, really. The event will take place over four days, specifically from 13 to 16 June. A pre-event showcase given by various partners will take place on 11 June. We’re not sure why the gap day, but that’s fine. It gives the organisers more time to set up. But there is one difference on hand.

According to the Electronic Software Association (ESA), E3 2023 is being organised by ReedPOP. You’re familiar with the outfit, even if you’ve never heard the name before. The recent Comic Con Africa event was produced and put on by the international group.

What we’re not sure of is who will be attending. The ESA hopes to bring together “publishers, developers, journalists, content creators, manufacturers, buyers, and licensors”, as well as members of the public. E3 2023 will open to the public from 15 June. This is a similar model to that used by GamesCom in Germany. Let the press talk themselves out and then let actual fans in to ooh and aah over the shiny new games on offer.

Registration for E3’s in-person return in 2023 will open before the end of this year, according to the organisers.
