Always out of juice? Oukitel’s 10,000mAh smartphone could be what you need

We’re all been there — out somewhere and there’s a tell-tale bleep informing you that you forgot to charge your phone. If that’s you more often than not then Chinese company Oukitel has a smartphone that you might find interesting. Called the K10000 Pro, its main distinguishing feature is its battery — a pocket-busting 10,000mAh — which should be enough to keep the phone going for around two weeks between charges.

And we’re not saying that lightly. The biggest of the big smartphone batteries only clock in at around 5,000mAh and even Samsung’s power-hungry (heh) Galaxy S8 only packs a 3,000mAh power bank, so Oukitel’s phone is dialling it all up to 11 here.

The monster battery is going to be the only thing that you buy this phone for, however, as the rest of the specs are less than eyebrow-raising. This is the second handset in the line with the first, the K10000, featuring the same battery. The Pro’s specs represent an upgrade over its predecessor and will see users toting around a MediaTek 1.5GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 5.5in HD display, Android (though the version hasn’t been specified), and of course that going-to-the-mountains-for-ten-days battery.

As is so often the case with these weird and wonderful phones, the Oukitel K10000 Pro isn’t on the market yet. When it does launch, in June this year, it’ll be in the company’s home grounds in China so you’ll likely have trouble getting your hands on one. If you do, though, you’ll probably be able to take a three-week cruise and only have to charge the phone once.
