Light Start – Rolls SUV, Virgin Galactic, MvC Infinite, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Get a look at Rolls Royce’s Project Cullinan SUV

light-start-rolls-suvIt’s our life’s ambition to be able to afford a Rolls Royce at some point. We don’t have to actually buy it, we just want to afford it. Even the custom luggage set would be enough. Here’s something that we’re never going to afford, though. This is Rolls’ Project Cullinan, an SUV from the luxury auto maker that is undergoing some extreme testing in the next few months. How extreme? It’s going to be tested in the Arctic Circle for a bit before being shipped over to the Middle East for a while, to see how it handles the heat and cold. After that’s all done, it’ll be given a name and a price tag. Which we’re never, ever going to meet. Expect to see it on sale from 2018.

Virgin Galactic’s VSS Unity has undergone its first glide test, more to come

It’s been some time since we’ve seen Virgin Galactic in the news. Having a crash will do that to you, it seems, but the company has been working silently since. And now, SpaceShipTwo has completed a new glide test. SpaceShipTwo, which is a combination of WhiteKnightTwo and the new VVS Unity passenger section, has successfully finished a glide test, opening the door to further testing. More glides are on the way, with VSS Unity teaming up with WhiteKnightTwo for more unpowered flights, but this will be followed later by rocket tests on Unity’s part. Following that? People are going to space, dammit.

Marvel vs. Capcom is back with MvC: Infinite

If you like your combat team-based, comic-based and over-the-top, you’re probably pining for the next release in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Well you’re about to get what you want and damn does it look good. Capcom has announced Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, which will be launching for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and they’ve also dropped a little gameplay preview. Some series stalwarts, like Morrigan, Captain American, Ryu, and Iron Man, are present but there’s also Mega Man X and Captain Marvel as newcomers. Infinite is set to launch next year, so expect to see a lot more of it in the coming months.

We’re going to be watching Guardians of the Galaxy 2 — for Baby Groot, if nothing else

It’s a bit of a Marvel-ous Monday, by the look of it. First MvC and then Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which got a new teaser trailer over the weekend. The second film promises to be… a huge amount of fun, if nothing else, with the unlikely crew of Drax, Gamora, Rocket, Groot (the mini-version), and StarLord doing… something. We’re not really sure what the point of the film is, based purely on the teaser, but we suspect it doesn’t matter. The film will be a blast, either way. It doesn’t really need a plot. Still, it will have one and we’ll be watching it in May 2017.
