Get ready for your third Call of Duty Terminal experience with Acti’s moon base rendition

Terminal is the Call of Duty multiplayer map so good that they made it three times. Four times, if you happen to live in an area where Call of Duty Online was available. But for most players Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is going to be Terminal’s third outing.

First appearing in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 before being released (for free) in MW3, Terminal has long been an online favourite. Which might explain why the revamped map is being used as a pre-order bonus for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. This time around it’s not a terrestrial airport but instead a landing area for shuttles on a moon base. But all of the old elements, like the metal detectors, plane (shuttle, in this case) and that tiny little room that’s easy to hold if you know just where to sit, are still in place.

But, as this trailer for the new Terminal shows, it’s a whole different game this time around. Wallrunning, new killstreaks and a buttload of new weapons promise to make this fan favourite a more difficult prospect than ‘nading your old camping spots and running the circuit. Still do that, but you’re going to have to keep your eyes up at the same time.

According to Acti’s Scott Carpenter, lead multiplayer designer, “We had a lot of fun redesigning the Terminal map to be set on the moon. The scale of the types of vehicle needed for interplanetary flight allowed us to design some cool opportunities for wall running…or, in this case, gigantic grenade explosions…on vehicle wings.”

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare launches on 4 November. That’s… that’s next week.
