You know nothing until you’ve watched the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare story trailer

Huh, so maybe this is why the games industry has overtaken Hollywood for sheer amount of cash generated. The new story trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare looks better than most of the offerings Hollywood has made so far this year — and there isn’t even any gameplay to be seen.

What we do see is Game of Thrones’ Kit Harrington (otherwise known as Jon Snow, the Lord Commander, or the Bastard of Winterfell)) as Admiral Salen Kotch. Salen is the commander of the Settlement Defence Front and the main villain of Infinite Warfare. Although it might not be quite so cut and dried — Activision does like its twists.

Players will take on the role of Lt. Nick Reyes in an explosive campaign that spans most of the Solar System. Which makes a nice change from just nation-hopping and killing people in countries we’ve never visited, we supposed.

If you didn’t realise that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was a game then you might be convinced that the newest story trailer was for a very high-end movie blockbuster. On the strength of this, we’d suggest actually making a movie to Activision but they might take us seriously…

Anyway, here’s how your Friday’s going to go. You’re going to watch the story trailer and then circle 4 November on your calendar, which is when the game launches. Unless you just play the multiplayer, in which case your calendar’s already circled.
