CoD: Infinite Warfare will feature Zombies in Spaceland

Every year there’s a new Call of Duty and every year (since World at War) there has been a new Zombies outing to play when you’re done with the campaign and don’t feel like tea-bagging anyone online. The Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has been revealed and it’s titled Zombies in Spaceland — which sounds like something from the Saint’s Row series of games. Looks a bit like it, too.

Zombies in Spaceland is a radical departure from the premise of Infinite Warfare (high-tech space battles) which still staying kinda related to the main story. Players will take on the roles of a rag-tag bunch of teenagers (who fit the jock, nerd, rapper, and princess stereotypes) as they run around Spaceland — a 1980s space-themed amusement park — killing zombies. Well, it’s either that or die.

Involved in the outing are Paul Reubens (otherwise known as Pee-Wee Herman), who plays a former horror movie actor who gets our kids into this mess, and David Hasselhof, who plays a DJ. There’s a whole mess of horrible 80s fashion, neon-coloured everything, lasers and breakdancing zombies, as well as an unlikely mass of weapons and ways to dispatch the undead to that great disco in the sky. Oh, and some ear-worm 80s tunes.

There may or may not also be rocket-powered zombies. Or a weapon that turns the undead into rockets. We’re not sure on that point but it looks more like the latter. There are definitely clowns. Either way, we’re looking forward to seeing how this one plays out, if only because of the (very) different setting this time around.
