Next Forza game will debut at E3 with the Lamborghini Centenario included

Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios just announced this week that the popular Forza Motorsport series from Xbox will make its PC debut this spring with the free-to-play Forza Motorsport 6: Apex for Windows 10. But there’s more!

Today, the studios confirmed that a brand new Forza game for Xbox One will also be revealed at E3 in June. Why say that now? Because the Geneva International Motor Show is going down in Switzerland this week, and the studios used the occasion to announce a partnership with that will put the new Lamborghini Centenario on the cover and car roster of the next Forza game (see trailer below).

And that game will be showcased at the Xbox Media Briefing during E3 week in Los Angeles. Most likely, it will be Forza Horizon 3 or some variation thereof: Microsoft has had the core Motorsport and open-world Horizon games on an alternating-year release pattern for the past five years, and given the excellence of Horizon 2, it seems almost certain that another one is in the pipeline.

“We’re excited to continue our long history of working with Lamborghini and to be part of their 100-year anniversary by celebrating the Centenario as the featured cover car of the next Forza game,” said Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s Xbox head. “It’s an honor to announce our partnership at one of the world’s biggest automotive shows, and we look forward to unveiling the game at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.”

If you have last year’s Forza Motorsport 6, then you’re in for a Lambo-flavoured treat starting now: the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series has been added via update, letting you use the 2014 Gallardo Super Trofeo to compete in time trial and multiplayer events. The best players will then be invited into a second season with new prizes available.
