Telkom cuts fixed DSL and FTTH data bundle prices

Telkom has revised the pricing for a range of its data products, including the data bundles for its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) offerings and the Do Bundles for its fixed-line DSL services. Telkom’s been busy of late, adding voice bundles to its mobile offerings, slashing prepaid mobile data prices and expanding the reach of it’s LTE advanced service.

The new Do Bundle prices start at R399/month (down from R408) for its basic bundle that offers 2Mbit/s download speeds and a soft cap of 10GB of data, and go up to R999/month (previously R1 028) for its Elite Plus Bundle that offers a line speed of up to 40Mbit/s and a 100GB soft cap. The only exception is the Do Elite product, which will increase by around 1% to R799/month.

Each of the bundles includes line rental and a Wi-Fi enabled modem for those customer signing a 24-month contract. Existing Telkom customers who are currently subscribed to Do Bundles will also see the price reductions.

FTTH data prices, meanwhile, range from R699/month for the 10Mbit/s and 50GB data bundle up to R1,599 for the 100Mbit/s and 200GB bundle, a reduction from previous pricing of 11%.

New pricing comes into effect today (1 July), with the exception of the Do Elite Bundle, which goes up on 1 August.
