Reptile’s back: Mortal Kombat X’s latest combatant revealed

We’re going to start you off with a content warning, which you’ll have hopefully read before starting to buffer the reveal video above. There’s some quite graphic content in the gameplay above – if you’re a Mortal Kombat fan, you’ll know what to expect. If you’re a newcomer, you might need to avert your eyes.

That said, the video above is our first look at the return of Reptile, the lizard-man with the very nasty saliva. He’s the latest addition to the upcoming Mortal Kombat X, and this gameplay video (which ends in Reptile winning his bout, obviously) is NetherRealm attempting to get us excited for Reptile’s appearance.

In the video, besides the eye-gouging and skull-cracking, you’ll see a few of Reptile’s signature moves like turning invisible, spewing acid, that floating acid orb thingy of his as well as Reptile’s tongue being used as an offensive weapon. As with everything else we’ve seen from MK X so far, it all looks slick and tidy.

We’re itching to get our Fatality-inputting fingers on the game when it releases on 14 April this year. You can expect it on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, as well as the PC.
