Here are your free games from Sony and Microsoft this December

Both Sony and Microsoft have been giving (paid) subscribers to their respective services access to free games on a monthly basis and it’s just about time for an update from both gaming outlets. There’s a fair batch of gratis titles on the way as from next week so, depending on your platform, you’ll either be assassinating like a boss or hitting the slopes for a bit of fun in the snow.

Xbox Live Gold subscribers will find themselves with between two and three games to choose from in December. Xbox One owners will be getting their paws on Worms Battlegrounds, while the Xbox 360 will give players crime thriller The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief Episode 1 from 1 December to 15 December. That’s… a little disappointing but it’s free so roll with it. After that, 360 gamers will have EA’s snowboarding title SSX to add to their collection. You can hit the mountains from 16 December till the end of the month.

Sony’s PlayStation Plus subscribers have a slightly larger offering heading their way. PlayStation 4 owners can expect 2.5D fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us and Secret Ponchos to be available free-of-charge, while PlayStation 3 gamers will have access to the Hitman Trilogy (incorporating Silent Assassin, Contracts and the excellent Blood Money) as well as Deadly Premonition. Neither of those is very festive but you can dress Hitman’s Number 47 up in a Christmas hat so we’re counting that.
