See the various ways The Evil Within wants to kill you

It’s been a while since we checked in on The Evil Within, the horrific brainchild of Shinji Mikami – who gave the world the Resident Evil series way back in the day. A new video concerning the survival-horror title shows off a lot of the hazards that players will be facing on launch day, with twisted creatures that look like a combination of Silent Hill and H.P. Lovecraft being the major threats.

That’s not all though, there are deathtraps aplenty that will cause players a large amount of nervous tension. Like Resident Evil, actually taking on enemies will be an exercise in resource management as ammunition will be hard to come by.

The Evil Within is looking a lot more polished than the last time we saw it, with smoother movement, animation and a whole lot more gore in evidence. Which is a lengthy way of saying we’re looking forward to spending Halloween with The Evil Within. And all the lights on in the house.

The Evil Within is set to launch next week, on 14 October, for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
