July on PlayStation Plus: Dead Space 3, Strider, Towerfall and others are free

Each and every month, Sony and Microsoft give away a couple of games free of charge on their respective online services. Each company has their own methods and, if you’re any kind of serious gamer, you already know what those are. For those new to this, Sony’s PlayStation Plus lets subscribers play certain downloaded games free of charge for the duration of their subscription, with the available games changing all the time. This month, Sony’s PlayStation Plus has a fantastic crop of titles for players to choose from.

As from 2 July this year, PS Plus subscribers will be able to play EA’s horror/action fright-fest (unless you’re playing co-op) Dead Space 3 as well as 2D puzzle game Vessel on the PlayStation 3. Those who have splashed out on a PlayStation 4 will have the rebooted version of Strider to look forward to and Towerfall: Ascension is also on the menu.

There’s also something in the lineup for PlayStation Vita owners in the form of LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes and there’s a cross-platform (PS3/PS4/PS Vita) game available for the month of July in Doki Doki Universe.

This means that time is running short to get your PS Plus-having hands on PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate, Trine 2, NBA 2K14 and the other games that Sony has made available for June. We’ll keep you posted on Sony’s free offerings for August and the rest of the year as they become available.
