Here is Nokia’s newest Android-ish phone, the X2

Yesterday’s expectations were on the ball as Microsoft and Nokia have detailed the Nokia X2, the Android-forked smartphone that slots into the low-to-mid-range of the market.

We were looking for a phone that had a 4.3-inch display, 1GB of RAM and a 5MP camera, most of which was accurate. The display is in fact a 4.3-inch 480 x 800 screen and it’ll feature a dual-core Snapdragon 200 CPU (1.2GHz) when it launches. In other words, pretty much everything that leaked was true.

As for when it launches… that’s something that we don’t know just yet, nor do we know how much it’ll cost when it gets to where it is going. There is a European price available that pegs the phone at around the R1,500 mark but we’re not sure at this point if it’ll make it to SA or if it’ll be similarly priced in this country.

Above is a video from Nokia of the phone’s interface in action, if you’re curious about how their take on Android works. We might be wrong on this but we’re pretty sure that the narrator is a local boy.
