Bids for the world’s largest video game collection close at R8.1 million

A couple of days ago we reported on Michael Thomasson, owner and seller of the largest video game collection on earth, which at that time was still up for grabs if you had the cash.

Not so any longer, the auction for Thomasson’s behemoth collection has closed, and the final bid stands on $750 250 (R8 118 230, based on the exchange rate at the time of writing).

Mr. Thomasson had cited family responsibilities as the main reason for selling his hoard, which included 11 000 games and 21 consoles, and it would seem that he definitely got (more than) his money’s worth.
