Get the world’s largest collection of video games, for only R950k

Most gamers have a couple of favourite games, which depending the person, is either on display on a shelf, or tucked away in some dusty corner to make space for newer acquisitions.

Not so for Michael Thomasson who has, according to the folks at Guinness World Records, the largest game collection in the world, and best of all, he’s putting it up for sale via Gamegavel, an online auction site.

Mr. Thomasson, citing family responsibilities as the reason for selling his hoard, has put his collection of 11 000 games and 21 consoles up for grabs, of which about 2600 of the games are still unopened, and about 8 300 still come with their box and manual.

The collection’s, reserve price has not been met at time of writing, and the current bid for the collection stands at R 960 000, and bidders still have 6 days left to get their mitts on the collection.

Apparently this is not the first time Thomasson has sold his collection, having done so twice in his life. Each time, he rebuilds his collection of games and he states that “…it is entirely possible that I may again.”

Someone should probably tell him about Steam.
