The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is the third game in the Geralt of Rivia series from Polish developer CD Projekt RED and it’s looking like the best outing for the mutant hero to date. Now, at long last, we’ve actually got a release date for the title and that is going to be on 24 February 2015. That’s still too long to wait though, especially when you see what CD Projekt have in store in the newly released trailer – Sword of Destiny.
You’ll get some idea of what to expect from the storyline, particularly if you’ve played the previous games or if you’ve picked up one of the fantasy novels that the The Witcher is based on. But, for the first time the game will be an open-world adventure and there’s a lot to see in terms of the settings, combat and character models.
Based on the trailer, The Wild Hunt will be a gorgeous game all in all with much of the familiar combat (magical and otherwise) sticking around. This time there will be combat from horseback, what looks to be a little ocean-going for players and a whole series of massive threats to keep you on your toes.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt will launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One early next year.
