Blizzard bringing the Ultimate Evil of Diablo III to consoles in August

Diablo III, Blizzard’s fantastic hack’n’slash adventure title, has been on home consoles for some time and it’s about time that something new was added. That something new is set to be the Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition that has been announced for an August 2014 release around the world (including South Africa) which will see the re-release of the original title along with the expanded content from Diablo III: Reaper of Souls.

The Ultimate Evil version of Diablo III will be introducing a lot of new content, including a new playable class in the Paladin Crusader, an Adventure mode that will see players exploring as well as a Bounties system. Randomised dungeons known as Nephalem Rifts will be available to gamers and Blizzard are also increasing the level cap for players – and then there’s the new story-based content to look out for where gamers have to contend with Sanctuary’s Angel of Death.

According to Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime “The Ultimate Evil Edition brings Reaper of Souls to console gamers for the first time, and wraps all of the content, features, and updates we’ve released for Diablo III into one epic package. Whether you’re a veteran of the crusade against the forces of evil on PC or are just stepping foot into Sanctuary for the first time, there’s never been a better time to experience Diablo III from the comfort of your couch.”

International release date for Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition is set for 19 August and the game will land on PlayStation 3 and 4, the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. If you’ve upgraded your console, you will be able to move your Diablo III characters from the PS3 to the PS4 and from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One and carry on the fight on some newer hardware.
