Dragon Age: Inquisition dated for SA, gameplay video released

The newest chapter in the Dragon Age adventure RPG series from developer Bioware and publisher Electronic Arts, Dragon Age: Inquisition, has finally been given a confirmed release date for South African gamers. EA’s local representatives have dated the landing of the third adventure in the world of Thedas for 10 October this year, which should put it after the local launch of Microsoft’s Xbox One. Which is a good thing because DA: Inquisition is set to launch locally on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 as well as the PC.

Bioware and EA have also released a new story-based gameplay trailer (embedded above) for the upcoming title to mark the release date announcement. Going through the trailer, there is a fair amount of cut-scene action but the game world and a few sections of combat are also given some time in the spotlight. By the look of things, the trailer is based on one of the new consoles or the PC’s visuals.

There’s no hint of what the user interface will look like but the series will be giving players some all-new combat animations to go along with some fresh abilities. Characters from the previous games, notably Dragon Age 2, are also going to be making a reappearance including the wisecracking narrator of the second game, Varric.
