Google’s Glass partnering up with the likes of Ray-Ban and Oakley

Google’s Glass product was never going to look like the early models through the whole of its existence but now we’ve got a better idea of what fashionable Glass users will be able to adorn their faces with. Google has announced a deal with a company called Luxottica Group, which consists several players in the world of glasses. Two of the largest are Oakley and Ray-Ban, who will “will be a part of the collaboration with Glass.”

The group followed that by saying that more details on just what the Google-partnered products will look like will follow at a later stage but that they “…will combine high-end technology with avant-garde design offering the best in style, quality and performance.”

Google said that they have opted for the partnership that they have because “Luxottica… [will] bring design and manufacturing expertise to the mix, and, together, we’ll bring even more Glass style choices to our Explorers.”

“In addition, Luxottica’s retail and wholesale distribution channels will serve us well when we make Glass available to more people down the road.”
