Titanfall’s launch has been cancelled for South Africa

Electronic Arts South Africa have decided to cancel the launch of Titanfall, one of the most anticipated shooters to release this year, in this country. The announcement was made a little earlier today and the game is no longer available on the South African Origin Store.

EA South Africa said in the Facebook post announcing the cancellation that “After conducting recent online tests for Titanfall, we found that the performance rates in South Africa were not as high as we need to guarantee a great experience, so we have decided not to release Titanfall in South Africa at this time.”

“We understand this is a disappointment for local fans and will keep fans posted on any future plans regarding the release of Titanfall in South Africa.”

Given how much local gamers were looking forward to the Titanfall release, which was supposed to take place later this month, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a bit of an outcry as a result of the cancellation.
