Samsung’s recent filing for a Galaxy Gear trademark may throw out a new product sooner than expected, if current rumours are to be believed.
Galaxy Gear is likely going to be used to describe smartwatches being developed by the South Korean company and there are unconfirmed rumours that Samsung will be revealing the wearable computing gear at their UNPACKED Episode 2 event on 4 September.
SamMobile claims that they have confirmed the announcement of the smartwatch at Unpacked next month, though there is no indication as to what the watch, which will apparently function with other Samsung Galaxy products, will look like or what the features will be. Unfortunately they don’t cite any sources for the claim so the smartwatch reveal should be treated as just rumour for now.
