Google’s Nexus 7 successor leaks, may become available this week

Images purported to be press shots of the new incarnation of Google’s Nexus 7 tablet leaked over the weekend, backing up a previous leak regarding the device last week.

The images show a device that looks very similar to the original Nexus 7, though it shows a rear-facing camera, dual speakers and a new notification light, along with the Nexus and Asus logos. @evleaks, who leaked the apparent press images, claims that the updated device will become available in 16GB and 32GB flavours.

Google’s new device might become available this week, possibly as soon as Tuesday. Both @evleaks and an advertisement for Best Buy suggest that the updated Nexus tablet will go on sale in the States this week, with the ad claiming that the device will be priced at around $230 (R2,260) for the 16GB version. The Best Buy ad also indicates that Google’s new hardware will feature a resolution of 1920 x 1200.
