ThoughtWorks, JCSE to co-host inaugural Agile Africa event

Wits University’s JCSE (Joburg Centre of Software Engineering) and ThoughtWorks will be co-hosting the inaugural Agile Africa Conference at the Alex Theatre in Braamfontein in Johannesburg early next month.

The event will take place from 12 to 13 August and aims to “showcase agile software development within an African context”, according to JCSE director Professor Barry Dwolatzky.

The conference already exists in India as well as the States and the local version of Agile will feature international speakers covering a variety of related topics.

Dwolatzky said in a statement “We have some outstanding keynotes lined up including renowned Agile expert, Martin Fowler from ThoughtWorks, who will discuss software design in the 21st century.”

Standard tickets for the event will cost R3,500, with discounts available for early or group bookings.
