If This Then That comes to iOS

If This Then That (or IFTTT) has been made available to iOS users. If This Then That is a very useful website that allows you to run various web services together.

If This Then That on the iPhone will bring many of its trademark features to the mobile app, while also adding the ability to create what it calls recipes for the apps on your iPhone. For example, you can have the app upload any photos you take to Dropbox, or let send welcome messages to any new contact you add, or add the date you add a contact to your Google Calender. The sky is pretty much the limit with the app.

One problem that might surface for iOS users is that the app will only carry out its recipes when you open the app, so be sure to turn on background sync when you use it, although it might reduce your battery life.

The company has also said an Android app is coming at some point in the future. IFTTT is free to download fromĀ iTunes.
