EA confirms Star Wars: Battlefront at E3

When Disney purchased the rights to LucasArts, the fate of the Star Wars franchise of games was uncertain. Then Electronic Arts stepping in, snapping up the license for the iconic series. Still, there was doubt. Until now, that is. At EA’s recent pre-E3 conference the publisher showed off several titles, including Mirror’s Edge 2, Respawn Entertainment’s recently-leaked Titanfall, Dragon Age: Inquisition and a collection of other EA sequels and sports titles.

But it was the Star Wars: Battlefront teaser that may have redeemed EA in the eyes of Star Wars fans. Running on the Frostbite 3 engine, the Battlefront reboot that is due from the publisher and in-house developer DICE is looking mighty fine. Below is EA’s official preview teaser.

There is, unfortunately, no release date for the game as yet.
