MTN has announced changes within the company’s Group Executive Committee, with current CEO Karel Pienaar moving up to Group Chief Strategy Officer. Current CFO and acting Chief Business Officer Zunaid Bulbulia will be stepping into the post of CEO for South African operations.
Pienaar, a founding member of MTN, will be overseeing MTN strategy across its operations. Bulbulia, also a founding member of the company, will be “tasked with bolstering MTN’s competitive position in the South Africa market.”
MTN Group President and CEO Sifiso Dabengwa said in a statement that both Pienaar and Bulbulia “understand MTN’s business priorities and challenges”, adding “We look forward to their continued contribution to MTN’s growth in their new roles.”
