Several reports indicate that there is something going on between Yahoo and blog outfit Tumblr. An AllThingsD report says that Yahoo and Tumblr are in talks for some sort of deal, which could result in either a partnership or having Yahoo buy Tumblr altogether.
Another report from Adweek gets a little more specific, building on AllThingsD’s report and adding that while the deal isn’t done, an outright purchase of the blogging site could total around the $1 billion mark.
Yahoo has been attempting to appeal to a younger demographic recently and Tumblr’s user base definitely fits the bill. Tumblr’s sale, especially for the reported sum, would probably benefit both parties involved, so Stuff will be keeping an eye open for a possible announcement in the near future.
