Sony’s e-ink paper-replacement slate and stylus prototype, revealed earlier this week, sounds good on paper but how does it function in the real world?
Diginfo has the answer to that question, in the form of a video of the new technology in action. The prototype is constructed out of plastic in the display where glass would normally be used, resulting in the thinner, lighter device that looks more or less like an average paper notepad. When used to take notes it looks like a simple piece of lined paper but the video below shows off how the device handles PDF documents as well, from making notes to highlighting text with the stylus.
Sony’s prototype is expected to go into manufacturing this year.
