Panasonic unveils 16-MP Lumix DMC-GF6

Panasonic’s new 16 megapixel shooter, the Lumix DMC-GF6, has been made official following a few image leaks yesterday.

The DMC-GF6 packs in a Live MOS Sensor, backed by Panasonic’s new Venus Engine which allows the camera to “attain high-performance signal processing”. It features an extended ISO range of 25600, 1920 x 1080 full HD AVCHD video recording, built-in flash and a 3-inch tiltable display.

Featuring WiFi and NFC, the mirrorless camera is able to transfer images to a tablet or smartphone via an app, which is also able to remotely control the device. Panasonic says that the new Lumix unit is ready to shoot 0.5 seconds after the camera has started up.

Pricing and the exact launch date haven’t been announced yet but the shooter is expected to land in the next month or so.
