Ballistic hopes to “push the boundaries” of Facebook games

When you think of a Facebook game the first thing that comes to mind is probably something along the lines of Zynga’s -Ville series of games. What you’re almost certainly not picturing is something along the lines of Ballistic, a new browser and Facebook-based online shooter that comes across like a merging of Quake 3 and Activision’s Modern Warfare series of games.

The game will feature shooter stalwart modes like Deathmatch, King of the Hill and a Domination-like option. Based on the gameplay video for Ballistic, which touts its ability to run via a user’s browser or inside their Facebook page, the game would be little more than an average first-person shooter if it required a client download. Without the need for such a download Ballistic is pushing the limits of what is possible for a Facebook title that streams content to the user.

Ballistic has currently got a beta period on the go that is accepting applications. If the current work from developer Aquiris is anything to go by workplaces may come to a standstill again, not because of incessant crop-watering but rather because the entire office is engaged in some frantic fragging.
