Latest Galaxy Note 3 rumour puts display size at 5.9-inches

Smartphone rumours should almost always be taken with a pinch of salt and the latest speculation, via the Korea Times, is no different.

Citing a Samsung official speaking on the condition of anonymity, the report claims that a new device from Samsung, apparently the Galaxy Note III, will be featuring an even larger screen than its predecessors. The official is reported to have said “Samsung is working on introducing a new phablet using a 5.9-inch organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen.”

If true then the Note III, which has not been announced or revealed yet, is encroaching even further on tablet territory, a process which started with the original Note (5.3-inch display) and the Note II (5.5-inch display). Other features of the apparent phablet are the Exynos 5 Octa chipset, which lines up with previous rumours. However, older speculation has put the display size for a Note III at an even larger 6.3-inches.
