Kingston launches 512GB USB 3.0 flash drive at CES, 1TB to follow

Kingston at CES launched the DataTraveler HyperX Predator USB flash drive, the largest capacity USB 3.0 flash yet to hit the market.

The flash drive is currently shipping with a whopping 512GB of storage but the new HyperX Predator flash drive will be coming to market again around March 2013 with a 1 terabyte model.

The gadget is shock resistant thanks to the zinc alloy casing design and it comes with a Kingston keyring and attachments, backwards compatibility with USB 2.0, a 5 year warranty and claimed read/write speeds of 240MB/s and 160MB/s respectively.

Kingston says that the flash drive is “compliant with next-generation USB 23.0 specifications and is optimised for newer PCs with USB 3.0 ports.”

“Users who work with large video or graphics files, or gamers who like to travel with their entire library will appreciate the drive’s speed and capacity.”
