LG sets its sights on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1

LG Display is looking for an injunction against Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 in South Korea, according to a Dow Jones report. LG claims that the Samsung device infringes on three of the company’s display patents, specifically those related to technology concerning the viewing angle of the display.

The injunction request, filed last week, is apparently in response to a suit filed by Samsung Display in early December 2012 which claimed that LG is infringing on seven of Samsung’s LCD patents.

LG said in a statement “Through this action, LG Display seeks to completely stop the sale, manufacture, and importation of [the] infringing Samsung product.” LG is looking for damages of some $933,000 a day for each day that that Galaxy Note 10.1 remains on sale.

Samsung has said that they are not infringing on any of LG’s patents, calling the claims “unjustified”.
