YouTube Capture hits App Store

YouTube has launched a new app designed to “speed up recording, enhancing and sharing videos with your friends or the whole world”, announcing the advent of YouTube Capture through a blog post yesterday.

YouTube Capture is essentially a mobile uploader for YouTube videos, but with a slight twist. Capture can, the moment it is opened, begin recording video which can then be uploaded immediately. Closing the app will continue the upload in the background.

YouTube have also included a set of tools and enhancements with the app for those whose video recording skills are less impressive than their video editing. Existing videos on a mobile device can also be touched up and uploaded with YouTube Capture.

The app has only launched for iOS devices but YouTube’s blog post says that they will be bringing Capture to Android in future. Unfortunately no time-frame has been specified.
