Specs for NVidia’s Tegra 4 chip apparently leaked

The specs for NVidia’s Tegra 4 chip, codenamed Wayne, have apparently leaked in China, showing up on a slide that probably wasn’t supposed to circulate.

Tegra 4’s CPU, described in the slide as a “4-PLUS-1 Quad Core Eagle” is likely to be a Cortex-A15 chip, The Verge reports. This is based on the fact that Eagle was the ARM codename for the architecture. If the leak is accurate then Tegra 4 will feature a 72-core GPU setup, reportedly making it six times more powerful than Tegra 3.

Tegra 4 will also be created with a new 28nm manufacturing process, according to the leak, so it could be less power-hungry when it comes to mobile batteries. It will also apparently support 2,560 x 1,440 displays, 1080p at 120MHz and there is passing mention of 4K, though it isn’t clear whether Tegra 4 would support the new standard.
