Twitter adds Aviary-powered photo filters in update

In the wake of Instagram removing most of its image support from Twitter, Twitter has rolled out its new filters for the micro-blogging service.

Announced via a blog post and sooner than expected, Twitter has launched eight image filters for its users, ranging from black and white to vintage options. The filters themselves and how to use some of the other new features are explained in a video released by Twitter (below).

The company has added the filters and several ways to preview their effects, and cropping and enhancement options are also now present. The Twitter apps on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store have both been updated, as well as Twitter’s official download.
