Nokia announces Lumia 620

Nokia has revealed what the company is calling their “most affordable Windows Phone 8 smartphone”, the Lumia 620. An even more colourful take on the Lumia lineup, the 620 is aimed at a younger market and has stripped down specs to go along with the price drop.

The Lumia 620 features a 3.8″ TFT WVGA 800×480 display, a dual core 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 512MB of RAM. 8GB of internal storage and the option to add another 64GB via microSD are also part of the package, as is a 5 megapixel camera that uses Nokia’s camera lenses. And the handset is of course shipping with Windows Phone 8, NFC, and Bluetooth 3.0.

The handset is expected to roll out in Asia first, in early January next year, before moving on to the EMEA territories later. Only the pricing in dollars is known at the moment but the conversion to local currency puts the handset at around the R2,200 mark.
