Sony’s Xperia T ‘Bond phone’ detailed

Sony has detailed the Xperia T ‘Bond phone’, which is featured in the latest 007 outing Skyfall and which boasts, according to Sony, Sony’s best smartphone display.

The Bond-worthy handset has a 4.6″ 1,280 x 720 HD Reality Display that, like the other phones in the Xperia series, uses Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine. The phone is powered by a dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Krait MSM8260-A CPU and has 16GB of internal storage, though a fair chunk of that is devoted to firmware and downloads. There is some 10.5GB of available internal storage, with the option to expand it by up to and extra 32GB via microSD.

The handset’s rear camera is a 13 megapixel affair that uses a Sony Exmor R mobile image sensor and is capable of 1080p video recording. The device ships with Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) as standard, with an upgrade to Android 4.1 becoming available later.

The Xperia T also throws in a full range of apps as standard, covering web browsing, entertainment and office functions, a wide range of connection options – including the now-standard for the product line NFC (near-field communication) – and advertised standby time of up to 450 hours (GSM/GPRS).
