Facebook photo auto-upload feature being tested on iOS

Facebook is now testing an image auto-upload feature for iOS devices, something which some Android users were testing back in September this year.

The Photo Sync option is only available to a few users on iOS at present since this is an early test of the feature on Apple’s operating system but it functions in much the same way that Google + or Dropbox’s automatic image uploads work.

Images on a handset that has Facebook’s Photo Sync enabled and which have not been published are automatically uploaded to an unpublished album on Facebook. This is to prevent any accidental publishing of images. Facebook is offering two ways to accomplish the upload, either through a WiFi connection when one is available or over a cellular connection. WiFi uploads will upload the entire image while taking the cellular route will see the images shrink to save users on data costs.
