Samsung’s announcement that the Galaxy Note II has sold 3 million units has been overshadowed by Apple’s latest feat. The Cupertino company has sold 3 million of the latest iPad and the iPad Mini this past weekend alone, according to information released by Apple.
The iPad Mini has apparently all but sold out and the sales weekend was a record-setter for the company. It was not revealed what numbers were initially available for sale of the iPad Mini, nor was the split between the revised (fourth generation) iPad and iPad Mini sales divulged. CEO Tim Cook said in a statement:
Customers around the world love the new iPad mini and fourth generation iPad. We set a new launch weekend record and practically sold out of iPad minis. We’re working hard to build more quickly to meet the incredible demand.
