Google’s event may not have happened but the devices that the company was due to reveal have still released, namely the Nexus 10 tablet and the Nexus 4 smartphone.
The Nexus 10 tablet has been made thanks to a partnership with Samsung and features a 2,560 x 1,600 10″ display (300ppi) backed by a dual-core ARM Cortex A15 CPU. The Nexus 10 is the first tablet to sport the processor and the device will of course ship with a host of Google software along with Android 4.2. The 16GB versions of the tablet will fetch $399 while the 32GB flavour ups the cost to $499. 3G and LTE is not a feature yet, with only a WiFi version available at present.
The Nexus 4, developed by Google with LG, has a 1,280 x 768 4.7″ dispaly (320ppi) covered with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 2, the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel rear camera. The handset is NFC-enabled, supporting Google Wallet and Android Beam, and Google is touting the device’s gaming ability and the fact that users can import the DRM-free sections of their iTunes library into Google Play with the Music Manager.
