OS X Mountain Lion hits over 3 million downloads

Apple announced today that the latest OS to come from the company, Mountain Lion, has seen over 3 million downloads in four days. According to the company this makes Mountain Lion the most successful OS X launch in Apple’s history.

Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller said, “Just a year after the incredibly successful introduction of Lion, customers have downloaded Mountain Lion over three million times in just four days, making it our most successful release ever.”

The operating system is currently available for download, with a price tag of $19.99 for an upgrade from Lion or Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion is the ninth OS released by Apple and in addition to the current list of features, Facebook integration is also being added in a later update.
