Is this what the new iPhone 5 looks like?

Photos of what is apparently the latest iPhone from Apple appeared over the weekend, reportedly constructed from spares by Japanese repair website iLab.cc.

The spare parts are said to have become available recently and, when placed together, show a handset with an extended screen, the smaller dock connector, a centered front camera and a metal back-panel.

There seems to be no way to confirm the accuracy of these images at the moment and they could just be a clever hoax or even a ploy by Apple to conceal the actual handset’s appearance. There is some chance that the Japanese has the right of it however so if you’re keen on what may be, head to iLab and check out the rest of the images. Once the 503 server overload error lets up, that is.
