Flipboard now available for Android

Google

News app Flipboard, previously only available on iOS, has made the jump over to Google’s Android at last.

In addition to functioning on Android phones, Kindle Fire and Nook tablets will also have access to the service, which collects news items from new feeds chosen by the user and presents them in a semi-magazine layout.

YouTube and Google+ support have also been added to the app and, as usual, it is free to download and use.

Flipboard CEO Mike McCue said, “People are amazed by all the things they can see on Flipboard, and often the most personal and interesting stories come from friends. Today we have over 2000 featured content partners from around the world and, now with the addition of Google+ and YouTube, we have all of the popular social networks for our readers to sit back and enjoy.”
