Arqball Spin has a Kickstarter going…

Before reading any further it might be advisable to take a look at this link. Arqball have released an app, Arqball Spin, that lets users create interactive three-dimensional images using an iPhone or iPad.

Arqball Spin creates Spins, “…interactive visualizations of a 3D object that you can zoom in and out and spin around an axis–an experience like touching the real physical object on your mobile, tablet, or laptop.” If you clicked the link above, then you have seen one in action.

The app is free of charge but Arqball is also working on custom stages that rotate at the optimum speed for creating Spins (3 RPM), which is where the Kickstarter project comes in.

The company reportedly has plans to support platforms other than Apple and will also be making the final designs for the platform open source once their funding has been completed. The Arqball developers see a lot of commercial potential in the product, particularly for presenting products online. Making 3D modelling as cheap as a free app and $80 stage may just turn a few heads.
