Amiga returns (and gets expensive)

The Amiga brand has been resurrected with the announcement of the Amiga Mini, a computer from Commodore that looks a lot like a Mac Mini with a higher profile.

The price tag, which clocks in at $2,495 (R19,250), may be justified by what is in the box. A 3.5GHz Core i7 CPU, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, an NVidia GeForce GT 430 GPU, a 1TB hard drive and a Blu-ray optical drive are housed in an aluminium shell. Optional SSDs, integrated WiFi and 7.1 audio are also part of the package.

Whether the Amiga branding is worth getting all of this packed into a tiny box for R20k is up to the consumer.
