A report from 9to5Mac, citing an “Apple Store source who has been reliable in the past”, claims that preparations are underway for a large Apple Store event scheduled for 16 March. This is fuelling speculation that the iPad 3/iPad HD will be made available a little over a week from today’s announcement.
Two new Apple stores will be opening on Friday 16 March, one in Texas and the other at Harrod’s in London, both potentially providing a venue for the new product’s launch.
Last year’s iPad 2 was announced on 2 March, with the launch of the tablet taking place on the following Friday. Whether Apple will follow the same pattern as before is uncertain but all will be revealed in just a few short hours.
