Asus to be first with Jelly Bean?

Asus is hoping that they will be the first to offer Android 5.0 on their devices. The company believes that their relationship with Google will allow them to be first out the gate with Android Jelly Bean.

Asus’ Benson Lin told TechRadar, “Asus is very close to Google, so once they have Android 5.0 I think there will be a high possibility that we will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update.”

Asus was the first company to ship tablets with Honeycomb and was also the first to provide updates to Android Ice Cream Sandwich for their devices so getting access to Jelly Bean seems a likely possibility. LG is also in the running for jumping the queue and getting Android 5.0 upgrades onto their devices, which they believe will be accomplished the moment Google releases it for consumption.
